چکیده
2D semiconductors, particularly transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), have emerged as highly promising for new electronic technologies. However, a key challenge in fabricating devices out of semiconductors is the need ultra-clean contacts with resistances approaching quantum limit. The lack high-quality, low-contact-resistance P-type and N-type on TMDs has limited progress towards next generation low-power devices, such tunnel field-effect transistors. In this Expert Recommendation, we summarize strategies provide guidance making clean van der Waals monolayered TMD semiconductors. We also discuss physics prospects achieving conductance. A materials good electrical contact. This Recommendation discusses provides tips improving contact quality.

Manipulating spin-polarized photocurrents in 2D transition metal dichalcogenides.
Manipulating spin polarization of electrons in nonmagnetic semiconductors by means of electric fields or optical fields is an essential theme of the conceptual nonmagnetic semiconductor-based spintronics. Here we experimentally demonstrate an electric method of detecting spin polarization in monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) generated by circularly polarized optical pumping. The...
متن کاملPatterning Superatom Dopants on Transition Metal Dichalcogenides.
This study describes a new and simple approach to dope two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) using the superatom Co6Se8(PEt3)6 as the electron dopant. Semiconducting TMDCs are wired into field-effect transistor devices and then immersed into a solution of these superatoms. The degree of doping is determined by the concentration of the superatoms in solution and by the length ...

With the continuous exploration of 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), novel high-performance devices based on the remarkable electronic and optoelectronic natures of 2D TMDs are increasingly emerging. As fresh blood of 2D TMD family, anisotropic MTe2 and ReX2 (M = Mo, W, and X = S, Se) have drawn increasing attention owing to their low-symmetry structures and charming properties of mec...
متن کاملExciton formation in monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides.
Two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides provide a unique platform to study excitons in confined structures. Recently, several important aspects of excitons in these materials have been investigated in detail. However, the formation process of excitons from free carriers has yet to be understood. Here we report time-resolved measurements on the exciton formation process in monolayer sam...
